Designed by Swedish architect Inger Thede, the architecture of light draws the Himalayan landscapes into the house, making it a mirror to the seasons and time of day, and bringing bliss and warmth to every corner of the house. Four thoughtfully designed bedrooms, forest-framed verandahs, a sauna, a study lounge, and a kitchen built for shared meals and long conversations invite you to tune into your creativity and inner space. Spacehouse is not a hotel. It is a home with a spirit.
Touch nature
The minimal nourishing interiors weave together Himalayan red cedar wood, golden slate stones, lime, natural linen and wool. In a plastic world, radical nature is present everywhere at Spacehouse. Whether you're on a sabbatical, a creative retreat, an offsite, or simply seeking silence, you’re welcome to live as the artists do — immersed in nature, surrounded by intention. The tranquility inspires you to take the time to meditate, have unhurried conversations, immerse in Spacehouse collection of art, design and books, or go forest-bathing on one of the many wild but safe paths in the surrounding villages.

Every day at Spacehouse is designed to nourish your body, mind and senses. And seasons are a big part of the enjoyment at Spacehouse. Heated floors and a sauna, both powered by the sun, create an ideal indoor climate during the summer as well as the winter months. The warmth of the fire along with the smell of pine wood make long winter nights cosy. And summer produce turned into homemade preserves, are lovingly served by our staff on a seasonal menu.

Whether you are there to gather yourself, gather with loved ones, or simply marvel at the constellation of stars in the Himalayan nightscape, Spacehouse is designed to inspire you. Between the house itself, the one acre of farm forest it is surrounded by, and the nearby forests and villages, everything, everywhere, and everyone you might need is accessible on foot.
